I am a visual artist from Brisbane, Australia. Completely self-taught, I specialise in pencil and pastel drawings, fusing traditional realism with modern and abstract subjects. How I choose a subject is very intuitive, simply, if I see an image that strikes up a certain feeling inside me, I have to get it down on paper. Why I love my medium is the ability to create something from nothing. In a piece of paper and a pencil, there are infinite possibilities.
I have been drawing since the age of seven, and drawing professionally on and off since 2004. Drawing has always been a passion of mine and the one thing in my life that has never changed. Art is my biggest driving factor in life and I am looking at pushing my art forward into a full grown career.
I started my business venture in 2005 under the name 'The Art Chick', where I successfully sold original works and prints, as well as commissioned works of art. During this period I spent most of my time pursuing my photography career, in which I specialised in wedding and portrait photography, including shooting over 20 weddings interstate within Australia.
In 2014 I rebranded my business to my maiden name of Celeste Roddom and started with a fresh slate to concentrate only on my passion of art. Showcasing art in multiple successful shows in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
I am looking forward to growing my little business as best I can and I appreciate all the support given from family, friends and my loyal supporters who have stuck with me over the years.
